Port Augusta, A thriving industrial town, it is the northerly port in South Australia. It supplies electricity to alot of the outback areas. Fuel by coal from open cut mines.
We stayed in the caravan park for 2 days, and travelled around to see the sight.
A trip out to the Australian Arid Land Botanical Gardens.
Found thes statues made by different artist of the areas.

The water tower in Point Augusta, we climbed to the top and what a view, showing the surrounding areas. The light house at Lowry Point just out of Port Augusta.
We decided to take the inside road to head down towards Adelaide, we got to the small town of Melrose, and stayed in the show grounds there. Next day we back tracked To the small settlement of Willingham then drove inland over hills and down steep declines to Alligator gorge.

We decided to do the round trip which was 9 ks, so we started off it was beautiful easy walking a little hill until we reached the fire break and followed that, half way down it started to rain, wasnt just a trickle it poured down. So by the time we got back to the car we were wet through..
Back to the van, hot showers and spent the rest of the afternoon warming up and watching .TV
On the way back to the van we could see Mt Remarkable in the distant. The next we day we walked to the top hoping to get a good view but the trees had grown so much that there was no view. But a good walk and we were exhausted by the time we got back.

We arrived in Port Lincoln and stayed in the caravan park, did the neccessary things like washing fulling the water tanks and buying food. Then next day wetook off to see some of the bays around the area. Fishery Bay, this was amazing as the colours that where in the cliff just stood out to give up a great display. With the blue water it madea great picture.
Port Lincoln was quite a nice township, with a few hills and canals where alot of new homes where being built.

From a lookout point it was a good view of Port Lincoln and the surrounding area

Seaforth Bay was another beautiful bay with the rugged rocks and sand dunes

After spending about 3 days here we headed north to the township of Whyalla. A  mining town where everywhere you looked all you could see was this reddy brown dust,it covered the building, plants. We stay a couple of days but not really a

place I would want to go back to, it was an industrial town. But a beautiful view of the  Bay from Hammock Hill
We took a trip out to out to Conservation Park a we drive out of town to see some rock display and to have some more exercise.
As you can see we walked quite a way up onto theses rocks but will worth it for the sights that stood out in front of us.

And on the way back to our van we had this beautiful sunset.
We are lucky to have such a beautiful and diverse country right at our feet.
The ship The Whyalla . the first ship built in Whyalla, it is not in use now but it has become a tourist attraction with a museum, very interesting to read the history of the boat and the sailors who sailed in her.
So do you think I would make a good sailor, I don't cabins and bunks very small.
Next day, time to move on again to see what else was out there waiting for us.

 Hi Everyone,
As you round a corner this is what you see, the  beautful colour of yellow canola fields they look stunning with the green feilds around them.

This isBob and I  having lunch at Coffin Bay, overlooking the bay what a great spot. As you can see it was quite a cold day as we have our jumpers on.

There where many rock formations around the bay, also on the way there, there was a dirt road leading off to the right so as we do we take all the little tracks. Well I was ready to jump out and let Bob drive, as it was very steep  and rough and all I could see was the water below us. I have had many dreams of this. So very pleased but also a nervous wreck by the time we reached the bottom. I didnt drive out. Bob had the honours.

This a hairy little caterpillar we found on our walk. Over all it was a great day.
On the way back to Port Lincoln where we were staying saw this quaint little church. With this lovely old tree behind it. There is beauty everywhere ever an old tree.
well hope you are all enjoying our travels. Judith

These scenes where taken on the coast heading down to Port Lincoln. What a beautiful spot. We drove around the cliff top and found these amazing statures, they seem to be in the right spot looking out to sea.

This is a small country town called Ellison, with its lovely painted murals on the shop fronts.
